Counselors-In Training (CITs):

The Counselors-In-Training (CITs) program provides an opportunity for high school-aged students to build valuable leadership and practical skills working alongside adult camp staff members. CITs get hands-on experience working with Junior and Kinder Camp sessions and learn how to lead different camp elements: ice breakers, games, music & worship, planning large group activities for campers, and more. The Assistant Camp Director serves as the direct supervisor for the CIT program, with support from the Chaplains team and Camp Director.

COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM TRACK OPTIONS:

  • Junior Track: Working with campers completed grades 2-5

  • Kinder Track: Working with campers ages 4-7 & their Kinder Adults (parent/guardian/etc)

  • Hybrid Track: Starting with Kinder Camp and transitioning to Junior Camp mid-week

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Open to current high school students in grades 9-12 (ages 14-17) in the 2025-2026 academic year and will have successfully completed at least one year of high school by the start of 2026 camp sessions.

Students interested in participating in the CIT program must submit an application, regardless of past participation. There are a limited number of spaces available, and as with other camp staff positions, applying to serve as a CIT does not guarantee applicant selection. Job Descriptions and Staff/CIT Applications may be found at the top of this webpage.

PARENTS/LEGAL GUARDIANS: Please note that any minor applying for the Counselors-in-Training Program will need to submit to a modified background check. In compliance with Wis. Stat. § ATCP 78.26(1), “Camps shall take into account criminal background check information during the hiring of camp staff and any additional individuals 14 years or older residing on the camp’s premises with access to campers.”

This will include checks of publicly available records through the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website, the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access Page, one personal reference, and one professional reference. Contact the Camp Director at episcowiscocamp@gmail.com with any additional questions.
